Bonsucro announces ambitious growth targets

Cane industry certification body Bonsucro, which started operations last June, aims at a 5% share of the world's land under cane in two years and a third by 2020, up from 1.44% now, the company told Reuters. Currently around 1 mln tonnes of cane production is Bonsucro-certified. 14 mills in Brazil are already certified, with some facilities in Australia and Mexico expected to join soon. Companies that join pay a certification fee of $0.007 cents/tonne.
