United States - US Senate passes renewable chemicals funding under Farm Bill
The US Senate Agriculture Committee on May 15 passed a bill under the federal Farm Bill including mandatory funding for energy title programs and eligibility for renewable chemicals in Farm Bill reauthorisation legislation.

BNDES, Brazil’s national development bank, and its research-financing agency Finep have approved BRL2.2 bln ($1=BRL2.008) of projects for research into new sugar-cane processing technologies this year and may approve another BRL400 mln, Artur Yabe, Manager of the BNDES' Biofuels Department told Bloomberg. The state-owned organizations may also start evaluating another BRL800 mln of projects by the end of the year.
