Why European export powder prices may have to fall

European powder prices are not yet responding to the successive price plunges on the world's biggest auction. But why? And should we expect EU prices to follow suit?
As Dairy Markets reported this week, the average successful bid price for skimmed milk powder (SMP) on the globalDairyTrade auction was down almost 10% (-9.8%) to US$2 599/tonne. Whole milk powder (WMP) fell 4.1% to $2 760/t.
